GP Training

The Practice supports undergraduate and postgraduate training.

Foundation Year 2 Doctors (FY2)

The Practice supports the teaching of doctors in their second Foundation Year. FY2 doctors are fully qualified doctors who have spent one year in hospital practice and are fully registered with the GMC. They are attached to the practice for four months and the designated educational supervisors are Drs Ian Erwin and Gillian Scott.

Our FY2 doctors work alongside our GP and Nurse team undertaking closely supervised patient consultations. In addition, we offer tutorials with colleagues in areas of special interest.

Undergraduate Medical Students

We host 4th year medical undergraduate students from the University of Dundee. Undergraduates are attached to the practice for one month. During their time in practice, they are provided with an educational timetable which hopefully provides them with as wide an experience as possible of primary care presentations. As part of their experience, they are afforded the opportunity of consulting with patients whilst being supervised by a designated GP. Drs David McElnea and Michelle Allan are designated supervisors for the medical undergraduates in practice.
