How to Make an Appointment

Appointments for consultations can be made over the telephone on 01738 621844 or by calling into the surgery in person. Every day we have appointments available for issues which cannot wait for another day. If you feel you may need one of these, please phone as early as possible after 8.00am when you will be offered and expected to accept the next available appointment that day.

PLEASE NOTE - The practice has seen a significant increase in demand on our appointment system in recent times and for this reason, patients may now be asked for some further details about their appointment when booking. Many of the reasons that patients book a GP appointment could have been dealt with by a more appropriate person within the practice healthcare team. Please do not be offended if the reception staff do ask you a few more questions than you have previously been used to. They have been asked to do this by the doctors to help improve access for all patients. All staff members are bound by the same rules of confidentiality. It would be appreciated if you co-operated with this request.

All GP appointments are in the first instance carried out face-to-face. Specific nurse appointments are carried out by telephone and patients will be advised which are appropriate for a telephone consultation.

Please inform the receptionist if you wish to make an appointment for a clinic or special check such as:

  • Cervical Smear
  • Heart Check
  • Diabetic Clinic
  • Asthma
  • Chest/Lung Check
  • Well person check

Remember to cancel your appointment if it is no longer required, it can then be used for someone else. Even during these challenging times we still experience a significant number of missed appointments. This is having a big effect on our ability to provide timely appointments to those patients who are most in need.

Home Visits

If you are unable to come to the surgery because of illness or infirmity, then you may request a house call.

To help us help you, the Receptionist will ask for a few details of the problem so that the doctor will know how quickly he or she needs to come out.

All information is strictly confidential.

Please request your house call before 10.30am if possible, this helps us to plan our day.
